- July 17, 2008 - The judge denied Defendants' motion to compel discovery responses. The discovery related to the immigration status of the plaintiff. The judge relied on Labor Code section 1171.5, which says that immigration status is irrelevant to a claim for unpaid wages and no discovery shall be permitted into the immigration status of a person who files a claim for unpaid wages.
- July 15, 2008 - Plaintiff Genaro Nepomuceno has filed a motion for class certification. The hearing on the motion will take place on October 14, 2008. Any current or former employees of Thousand Oaks Hand Wash who would like to provide information to Plaintiff's attorney are encouraged to do so.
