Practicing law in Ventura County since 1977, Tony specializes in employment law and employment, business, and real estate litigation. He oversees the firm's employment and litigation practices.
Tony litigates cases all over California, appearing in both State and federal courts, including the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal and the United States Supreme Court. He also regularly provides employment law training to a variety of organizations and businesses.
Prior to entering private practice in 1986, Tony was an Assistant County Counsel and a Deputy District Attorney in Ventura County. He was a partner of Fairfield, Strauss, Uritz & Kinigstein and Strauss • Uritz before forming SLG.
Representative cases handled by Tony have included such issues as harassment and discrimination because of race, age, disability, religion, gender, and sexual orientation; false imprisonment by store security; stock options; unfair trade practices; theft of trade secrets; construction defects; mold infestation; real estate disclosure; soil and water contamination; breach of warranty; and contract disputes.
Tony is known and respected by judges, attorneys, elected officials, and community leaders as a person who can get results.
Awards
Tony has been awarded Martindale-Hubbell's highest accolade -- an "AV" rating. He was named Founder of the Year in2006 for his work with the Ventura Music Festival.
Interests
Tony is active in both the legal community and the community at large. He has trained as a mediator and occasionally handles matters both as an arbitrator and mediator.
Tony serves on the Ventura County Bar Association as both the Secretary-Treasurer and as a member of the Labor and Employment Law section. He is a Commissioner on the City of Ventura Cultural Affairs Commission. He also serves on the boards of numerous civic organizations, including the San Buenaventura Foundation for the Arts, the Ventura County Medical Resource Foundation, and the Ventura Music Festival Association, of which he is the past president. Tony is also a member of Rotary International.
Tony travels extensively, loves art and music, and skis whenever possible.
