Strauss Law Group (SLG) is made up of three attorneys – Tony Strauss, Bruce Crary, and Michael Strauss – and paralegal Chris Bennett.
Tony Strauss, the founder of SLG, has been practicing in the Ventura County area since 1977, and he began his employment law practice in 1979. Since then, he has been representing businesses, public entities, and individuals in employment law/litigation and other types of litigation matters. He has put together a team of attorneys and staff at SLG to continue to provide the highest level of service.
SLG offers a full spectrum of employment law/litigation services, from the transactional side – drafting employee handbooks and training managers and supervisors to avoid workplace harassment – to the litigation arena, where our attorneys defend employers from lawsuits and also bring actions on behalf of employees to ensure they receive proper overtime pay and lunch breaks and are otherwise protected from unlawful actions taken by their employers.
We have chosen not to limit our representation to just one side – either the employer or the employee – because the experience of representing the two makes us better employment lawyers. Our employer clients benefit, because we know every move employees and their attorneys will make once they begin to take legal action. Conversely, our experience of representing employers is to the advantage of our employee clients, because we know how employers typically respond.
In addition to employment law/litigation services, we also handle other business and real estate disputes. We regularly appear in court or conduct negotiations regarding business issues like breach of contract, unfair trade practices and theft of company secrets, breach of warranty, corporate or partnership dissolution, OSHA violations and DFAR compliance.
As for real estate matters, we have represented buyers, sellers, and owners concerning latent and patent defects, mold, disclosure issues, liens and construction disputes, water and soil contamination, soil subsidence, easement and property line disputes, quiet title and prescriptive rights, and other disputes.
We have litigated all over California. We appear in both State and federal courts and regularly participate in private arbitrations and mediations.
The attorneys at SLG are highly trained and well-respected. We are large enough to competently handle even large, complex matters, yet, because of our size, we can also see that clients receive the individual attention they deserve. As a result, most of our business comes from referrals from our former or current clients or other attorneys who know how we work.
